Manuel Piqueras Flores

Professor of Spanish Literature at the University of Jaén, where he is a member of the SELYC Research Group. His research focuses on the study and edition of the literature of the Golden Age, with special attention to three authors of the first third of the 17th century: Cervantes, Lope de Vega and Salas Barbadillo, whose narrative poem about Juana de la Cruz he will edit in this project. His publications include the monographs La literatura en el abismo: Salas Barbadillo y las colecciones de metaficciones (Academia del Hispanismo, 2018) and La escritura musical de Felisberto Hernández: Nadie encendía las lámparas (Università degli Studi di Torino, 2020).
He received his PhD in Hispanic Studies from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (2016) and has taught at the universities of Granada and Castilla-La Mancha, as well as being an Alexander von Humboldt Fellow at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn. He has carried out research stays at the University of Buenos Aires, the Complutense University of Madrid and the University of Oxford, and teaching stays at the universities of Trento, Bern, Salerno, Fribourg and Milano.
