Ana Rita G. Soares

Ana Rita Gonçalves Soares (Porto, 1992) holds an European PhD in Literary Studies from the Complutense University of Madrid, where she was engaged as a pre-doctoral fellow researcher between 2016 and 2021. She holds a degree in "European Languages and Literatures" (University of Minho) and two Master's degrees from the University of Santiago de Compostela: "Literary and Culture Studies" and "European Medieval Studies: Images, Texts and Contexts ". She has the title of specialist in "Gender Perspective in Cultural Industries" and "Feminist and Queer Pedagogy", both from the Complutense University of Madrid. She has done training and research at the University of Cambridge and at the Institute of Medieval Studies of the NOVA University of Lisbon. She has been a guest lecturer at the University of Lisbon, the NOVA University of Lisbon, the University of Aveiro and the University of London. She is a member of the Research Project "Catalogue of Living Saints (1400-1550): Towards a complete corpus of a female hagiographic model" and collaborates with the Innovation Project "Read in community". She is co-editor of the "Catalogue of Living Saints". Her current line of work combines feminist perspectives with queer theory and contemporary literary medievalism. The results of her research are available online in journals such as Tropelías, Brumal, Elos. Revista de Literatura Infantil e Xuvenil and Cadernos de Literatura Comparada.
