Andrew M. Beresford is Professor of Medieval and Renaissance Studies at the University of Durham. He has published widely on hagiography and Spanish devotional art and literature, including monographs dealing with Thaïs and Pelagia (The Legends of the Holy Harlots, 2007), Agnes (The Legend of St Agnes, 2007), Agatha and Lucy (The Severed Breast, 2010), and Bartholomew (Sacred Skin, 2020). He is currently preparing a book on martyrdom in the Gran flos sanctorum.
